My approach

I plan treatment around the needs of the individual person or family.

It is important to me to create a safe space where my clients are met with presence, openness and understanding. I have specialist knowledge about OCD, and my clients are experts in their lived lives. I therefore see treatment as a collaboration between those two perspectives.

I have great respect for the courage my clients show when they confront anxiety and OCD. I see it as one of my most important tasks to support and motivate their work.

Across my treatment work, I focus on giving clients knowledge, concrete tools and methods they can use to handle anxiety and OCD both during and after treatment.

In addition to the specific methods and techniques developed at OCD Klinikken, I especially draw on cognitive behavioural therapy and newer cognitive therapy approaches in my treatment courses.

Guidance for parents and families

OCD can affect the everyday life of the entire family.

In guidance for parents and families, I start with the family’s specific situation and the patterns OCD has created in everyday life.

The guidance is intended to give you a shared understanding of OCD and practical ways to provide support without giving OCD more room. Together, we find a direction that fits the child or young person and the family as a whole.

Research and professional communication

My background in psychology also extends into research, communication and design.

Alongside my work as a therapist, I work one day a week as a postdoc at Aarhus University. My research lies at the intersection of psychology, human-computer interaction and design.

My research perspective and communication work complement my clinical practice with curiosity, systematic inquiry and attention to how knowledge becomes useful in people’s everyday lives.
