Before you begin

Getting started and the first session

You can book a full consultation directly or choose a brief free introductory conversation if you would first like some clarification.

Two different conversations

The free introductory conversation and the first full consultation have different purposes.

Free introductory conversation

The free conversation lasts approximately 10–12 minutes and can take place in the clinic or by video. It can be used for a brief practical question or to consider whether the clinic seems likely to be the right place for you.

The conversation is available to people aged 18 or over and is not the entry point for parent or family guidance. It is not a clinical assessment or a treatment consultation. You do not need to book it before arranging a full consultation.

First full consultation

The first consultation provides time to discuss your circumstances, symptoms and what you would like help with in more depth. Together, you and the psychologist begin to form a picture of the OCD pattern and possible goals for treatment.

Feeling secure and preparing

It is common to feel nervous before the first consultation. You do not need to explain everything at once or know exactly how to describe it. We help create an overview and take the conversation at a pace you can manage.

If having someone with you would help you feel more secure, you are welcome to bring a parent, partner, friend or another support person to the consultation.

Who should you choose?

Both psychologists offer specialist OCD treatment, but their age groups and other services differ.

  • Jesper Krogholt offers individual consultations from age 15 in Copenhagen and online.
  • Ditte Mortensen offers individual consultations from age 15 in Aarhus and online, as well as guidance for parents and families.

Their profile pages provide more information about their expertise and services.

The first consultation sets the direction

The first consultation is the beginning of your treatment process. We start setting a direction for the work and discuss your goals, pace and the format that suits you. The process can be adjusted along the way as we gain a clearer understanding of your OCD pattern and needs.
