The treatment process

Treatment has a clear clinical direction while being adapted to your OCD, your goals and what you learn along the way.

How we work together

A course of treatment does not necessarily follow five separate steps. The same elements may recur and receive different emphasis along the way.

  1. Shared understanding and goals

We explore your OCD pattern, your circumstances and what you would like to change. Together, we formulate goals and a direction for the work.

  2. Knowledge and tools

We develop a shared understanding of OCD and work with the visible and mental strategies that maintain the pattern.

  3. Work in and between consultations

We plan relevant exercises and use your experiences from everyday life in the next consultation.

  4. Adjustment and independence

We adjust goals, content and pace in response to your experiences, so that you gradually become better able to manage OCD independently.

  5. Ending and follow-up

We consolidate what you have learned and agree on how you will continue the work and what you can do if OCD begins to take up more space again.

Your personal course

An active part of treatment

Your personal course brings together knowledge, exercises and tools for understanding and managing OCD and anxiety. We use the material actively in consultations and in the work between them.

The course is part of treatment and does not require separate enrolment.

  1. Foundational and advanced understanding of OCD Knowledge about OCD, managing OCD and the patterns that maintain the difficulties.
  2. Anxiety and managing anxiety Knowledge and exercises about anxiety, discomfort and learning to respond differently.
  3. Exercises and tools Material connected to your current goals that you can also return to later.

Work between consultations

What you try between consultations is a central part of treatment. We plan specific exercises together and use your experiences in the work that follows.

This is not a test that you can pass or fail. What works, and what becomes difficult, gives us important information for the next stage of treatment.

Rhythm and duration

The rhythm follows the treatment format we have agreed and can be adjusted along the way. In some periods, more frequent consultations may provide better continuity; later, consultations may be spaced further apart as you work more independently.
